Concept

For the Better

We annually announce a different theme to motivate participants through the conference. In 2017, All Japan Model United Nations (AJMUN) is going to be held with the theme, “For the Better”. It includes our two missions for participants;

(1) to ponder about each agenda as a citizen living in modern international societies,

(2) to utilize your experience and knowledge to partake in challenging discussions.

Concerning (1), Model United Nations (MUN) is generally considered as a diplomatic negotiation game. We believe, however, that it is just a waste to see the negotiations on real international issues as only a game, in which no actions are taken to solve any of the problems we have. All the agendas and topics which MUN provides are all related to our lives. For our own future and next generations, we would like delegates to think deeply about the hidden threats and conflicts in our society in order to bring more peace into our world. ‘When you can speak about these issues with YOUR own words and not with words from the media or your companions, you will become an authentic diplomat.’
Regarding to (2), we believe that it is critical for participants to have their own purposes and goals for the intense 4 day sessions. Ask these questions before the meetings:
-Why do you want to participate in AJMUN?

-What do you want to gain from it?

-How do you want to make use of it for your next step?

We will provide tremendous opportunities and experiences to every single student. Some experiences you will gain through AJMUN may change your school life and yourself. We guarantee that your ambition and passion will bring you a satisfying result at our conference.
‘When you achieve these missions, you will change your life for the better.’ We promise all the participants will be offered a valuable and worthwhile environment for all 4 days with the theme, “For the Better”.
